Centre to confer awards on Haryana for achievements in implementation of MNREGS, PMAY-G

Chandigarh : Union Ministry of Rural Development has decided to confer awards on the Haryana Government for its achievements in the implementation of Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MNREGS) and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) in a function to be held in New Delhi on June 19.Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats, Navraj Sandhu, would receive these awards on behalf the Haryana Government.Award would be conferred on the Haryana Government under the category ‘Performance in Aadhaar seeding and conversion’ for carrying out Aadhaar seeding for all active workers of rural areas in the state in the Management Information System (MIS) NREGASoft under MNREGS. As a result, payment of wages of the workers has been converted into Aadhaar-based payment, which is credited directly in their accounts.Under the category ‘Commendable performance in Registration, Geo-tagging and Sanctioning in PMAY-G’, award would be conferred on Haryana Government for identifying households having ‘kutcha’ houses in the rural areas of the state.These households would be provided financial assistance under the scheme to construct new house. The state has achieved maximum registration, geo-tagging and sanctioning in the MIS AWAASSoft against the target allocated by the Central Government.
