CSE is ranked above organisations such as United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in the list of top environment policy think tanks
New Delhi: The New Delhi-based Centre for Science and Environment (CSE) has been ranked the top environmental policy think tank in India and 16thĀ in the world by theĀ Think Tanks and Civil Societies ProgramĀ (TTCSP) of the Lauder Institute at the University of Pennsylvania. The CSE has climbed up two positions from the last year. The TTCSP conducts a research on the role policy institutes play in governments and civil societies around the world.
The CSE has also made it to the first comprehensive list of leading Food and Water Security Think Tanks in the world. In the ‘Energy and Resource Policy Think Tanks’ category, the CSE has been ranked the second in India and 38th in the world. It has also been ranked the 6th best independent think tank in India.
In the Top Energy and Resource Policy Think Tanks category, the CSE ranked 2ndĀ in India and 38thĀ in the world.
According to the TTCSP, think tanks are āpublic-policy research analysis and engagement organizations that generate policy-oriented research, analysis, and advice on domestic and international issuesā.
