Government plans to multiply the numbers of the Ajeevika stores which are already launched in Madhya Pradesh.
These stores are aimed at providing a commercial platform to the women folk, who through the stores can easily sell their products directly to the public. After receiving a good response, the government has decided to spread the presence of these shops across different states of the country.
Rural Development Ministry is working closely with the state governments and is in the process of readying a blueprint to help SHGs sell goods under the Ajeevika, whose name has been derived from the present scheme of the National Rural Livelihood Mission.
Centre will back the project with proper funds, and will help setting up shops in different districts and blocks spread across the country. States will provide proper space for these upcoming outlets.
The Ministry is also planning to rope in some of the big e-retailers such as Amazon, Snapdeal and Flipkart to expand the outreach of this project.
