NSUI to launch public policy course for youth

New Delhi: The National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) will launch a 4-week public policy course for youth which will provide them an overview of the key policy challenges facing our country and the tools to deconstruct, analyze and understand the politics behind the policies.

Talking to reporters here, AICC joint secretary incharge for NSUI Ruchi Gupta said the course will provide the youth an opportunity to to interact with the country’s leading thinkers and practitioners such as P Chidambaram, Salman Khurshid, Sam Pitroda, Jairam Ramesh, Ajay Maken, K Raju, Shashi Tharoor, Sachin Pilot, Rajeev Gowda, and Meenakshi Natarajan while also giving them a chance to travel on field visits and practical assignments. ”The summer boot camp will provide India’s brightest young minds not just an overview of the key policy challenges facing our country but the tools to deconstruct, analyze and understand the politics behind the policies.

The Fellowship will focus on developing an understanding of the political considerations and implications of different policy choices to build a new generation of liberal, democratic and compassionate young leaders across India,” Ms Gupta said.

The Fellowship is open to all students and young professionals under 30 years. Interested candidates can apply at www.nsui.in. Applications for the course are open from May 1, 2018, and shortlisted candidates will be informed before May 31, 2018. The course is scheduled to be held from June 11 to July 6, 2018, in Delhi. A nominal fee will be charged to cover the administrative costs; there are some partial need-based fee waivers for exceptional young people.
