Govt to launch a new youth policy soon

Amaravati: “India is n country of the youth. In the total population, youth consists 65 per cent, whereas in countries like Japan, China and USA, people above 60 are of the majority, and the youth should cultivate hardworking culture, with an zeal for education and serving the society then only they will reach the top positions in the present world,” said Dr K Sivavaprasada Rao, Speaker, Andhra Pradesh Assembly.

He was speaking at the district youth festival here on Friday. The youth festival was jointly organised by the department of youth services, STEP and Swasakti. The speaker suggested that the young generation should imbibe leadership qualities of Swami Vivekananda and participate in the  state government programmes aimed to improve the levels of the youth in all areas.
District collector Kona Sasidhar, said that the intention of the government projects are to improve the financial conditions of the young people by discovering their hidden talents,and launched the skill development centre(SKD), and laboratories were established in the colleges registered with the SKD, through them students will enhance their professional skills.

The Brahmananda reddy stadium will be developed with a budget of Rs 150 crore to encourage the young in all fields along with education, and soon there would be a play grounds in every village  he added. He also said that the government is determined to provided employment and livelihood to each and every youth.

JR Pushparaj, Chairman, AP Food commission said that the state government will be launching a `new youth policy’ and `new sports policy ’soon and the students should strive for the integrity of the country. Md Hidayat, Chairman of AP State Minorities Finance Corporation said they will develop professional skills of the minority youth, their corporation has granted Rs 15 crore.

Tata Jayaprakash Narayana, Chairman of AP paddy tappers cooperative financial corporation said that the government would announce unemployment allowance soon to help the youth of the state who do not have any job or livelihood. Rajani priya,District employment officer, Sunil,  Managing director of Sri technologies, Habib Bhasha, CEO of youth services department, Salim, Project director MEPMA and others participated in the programme. M Venugopala reddy, MLA Guntur-2 presided. Later several young people performed cultural items like dance, singing, mimicry.
